POPULATION WELFARE INDICATORS OF UKRAINE AND OTHER COUNTRIES OF THE WORLD: A COMPARATIVE ANALYSIS
Abstract
The research identified the main indicators of population welfare, in particular the gross domestic product per capita, the consumer price index, the unemployment rate, and the human development index. A comparative analysis of population welfare indicators of Ukraine, Moldova, Poland, Czech Republic, Germany, France, China and USA in 2012 and 2022 was offered in the article. The choice of countries for the comparative analysis was justified. The population welfare indicators of the countries selected for analysis are visualized. An analysis of the dynamics of time series was carried out according to the GDP indicator of selected countries of the world according to purchasing power parity in 2010-2022. It also described the inflationary processes in Ukraine during recent years. The level of unemployment in Ukraine and other countries of the world was assessed, in particular, the reasons for the change in the level of unemployment in Ukraine due to the invasion of the aggressor country russia on the territory of our state and as a result of the termination of the activities of many business entities due to hostilities. It is also considered the problems of internally displaced persons who find it more difficult to get a job. In addition, with the help of a bar chart, indicators of human development of countries are visualized, which are one of the integrated indicators of the level of well-being and include information on life expectancy, level of knowledge and income. Besides, the importance of providing information on the state of indicators of the population's standard of living is emphasized, as well as the conditional stages of collecting information on the well-being of the population are highlighted. The article also attempts to identify the reasons for the low level of population welfare of certain countries. Thus, the problems of conducting an effective supportive policy of the state, which will be able to level or at least minimize the negative impact of the war on the qualitative and material determinants of the population's standard of living, are also considered. The value of the research lies in the comparison of indicators of the welfare of the population, such as GDP, CPI, the level of human development of different countries in the world in order to clarify the position of Ukraine for the further development of an economic development plan, especially in the period of post-war recovery.
