THE IMPACT OF IMBALANCES IN SOCIAL, POLITICAL, AND ECONOMIC FACTORS OF THE INSTITUTIONAL ENVIRONMENT ON THE DEVELOPMENT OF LIVESTOCK ENTERPRISES IN UKRAINE

Abstract

The article examines the impact of imbalances in social, political, and economic factors of the institutional environment on the development of livestock enterprises in Ukraine, specifically focusing on changes in livestock numbers and the production of livestock products during economic instability and war. Correlation and regression analysis methods are applied to assess the relationships between various aspects of the institutional environment and the dynamics of the industry. The study shows that social factors, particularly the standard of living of rural populations, traditions, farmers' social responsibility, access to new technologies, and infrastructure, have the most direct impact on livestock productivity and stability. These factors contribute to the preservation of livestock numbers, improved conditions for animal reproduction, and increased animal survival rates, which are especially important during times of economic crisis and wartime. Political factors, such as state support, regulatory frameworks, tax benefits, and support programs for farming enterprises, have significant potential for industry development. However, their impact is limited by bureaucratic barriers and the complexity of integrating small farms into government programs. At the same time, economic factors, such as access to financial resources, investments, and technologies, provide the foundation for the long-term development of livestock enterprises. However, uneven regional development, unequal access to funding, and high costs, especially during crises, limit the effective use of economic resources. Correlation and regression analysis shows that the social factor has the most statistically significant relationship with changes in the industry, including livestock dynamics and production. Political factors also play a role, but their impact is less pronounced. Economic factors create a base for stable development, promoting modernization and optimization of production processes. The article emphasizes the need for a comprehensive approach to livestock development in Ukraine, where social, political, and economic factors interact and support each other. Such an approach helps ensure the stability and growth of the industry, even in challenging conditions, including during economic crises or wars. The results of the study can be used to improve state policies aimed at supporting livestock enterprises and ensuring the country's food security.
