FINANCIAL SECURITY OF AN ENTERPRISE AS THE BASIS OF ITS FINANCIAL STABILITY UNDER CONDITIONS OF INSTABILITY AND WARTIME
Abstract
The article is devoted to the study of theoretical and practical foundations of financial security of enterprises as a system-forming condition of their financial stability in modern crisis conditions. The conceptual approaches to the interpretation of the concept of "financial security of an enterprise" are investigated, and its interconnection with related categories is established: financial stability, flexibility, stability, and financial equilibrium. It is determined that in conditions of military conflict, traditional methods of assessing financial security require significant adaptation taking into account the specifics of the crisis environment, in particular, the destruction of infrastructure, disruption of logistics chains, devaluation of the national currency, and a sharp decline in domestic consumer demand. The article systematises the key indicators of financial security of enterprises - covering property status, liquidity, financial independence, business activity, and profitability - and determines their threshold values. Strategic and tactical approaches to managing the financial security system are substantiated, and the structural and logical scheme of its functioning is characterised. Special attention is paid to the agricultural sector as a strategically important segment of the Ukrainian economy: agro-industrial enterprises face specific risks related to seasonal cash flow fluctuations, dependence on weather conditions, price volatility on global commodity markets, and disruption of export logistics in wartime. It is argued that state support mechanisms - tax preferences, subsidised credit programmes, state guarantees, and targeted grants - play a decisive role in maintaining the financial resilience of agricultural enterprises and small businesses during periods of heightened uncertainty. Recommendations for increasing the level of financial security in conditions of cyclical economy and wartime are developed, including the introduction of an adaptive monitoring system for financial security indicators, diversification of income sources, optimisation of the capital structure, and the use of digital financial technologies.
