INNOVATIVE FINANCING INSTRUMENTS FOR THE DIGITAL TRANSFORMATION OF ENTERPRISES IN UKRAINE
Abstract
This article examines contemporary innovative tools for financing the digital transformation of enterprises in Ukraine against the backdrop of structural economic changes, military challenges and the growing role of digital technologies in business development. This paper analyses academic approaches to the interpretation of digital transformation in enterprises and the characteristics of financial support for innovative development. It has been established that, alongside traditional sources of financing, alternative instruments are becoming increasingly important, in particular venture capital, crowdfunding, crowdlending, business angel investment, digital financing platforms, fintech solutions, P2P lending, blockchain technologies, smart contracts and other modern financial mechanisms. Their use contributes to the diversification of capital sources, expanded access to financial resources, reduced transaction costs and accelerated implementation of digital innovations. Based on statistical and analytical data, this study examines the structure of the use of innovative financial instruments in Ukraine in 2024. It was found that digital financing platforms accounted for the largest share of total funding, whilst crowdfunding and venture capital remained significant. It was found that the choice of fundraising instruments depends on the scale of the enterprise’s operations: for small businesses and start-ups, crowdfunding technologies are the most accessible; for medium-sized enterprises, venture capital is the most accessible; whilst large companies use innovative mechanisms primarily as a supplementary tool alongside traditional financing. Particular attention has been paid to the role of international partnerships in financing the digital transformation of Ukrainian enterprises. It has been demonstrated that the attraction of foreign capital, support from international institutions, the development of the start-up ecosystem, and Ukraine’s integration into the global digital space are key factors in the modernisation of the economy and the post-war reconstruction of the state.
