FOOD SECURITY IS A FUNDAMENTAL ELEMENT OF HUMAN LIFE

Abstract

The article examines the legislative framework for food safety for the population. It is established that food safety is the state of a food product that is the result of production and circulation activities carried out in compliance with the requirements established by technical regulations and provides confidence that the food product does not harm human health if consumed as intended. Food consumption is an integral part of human life, and therefore safe nutrition is a fundamental element of human life. The right to quality food is enshrined both at the international and national levels. The joint responsibility for food safety is the responsibility between governments, producers and consumers. Scientists are constantly researching the selected issues, but despite the sufficient number of scientific works, this topic leaves room for further scientific research. The article describes harmful and beneficial products for the human body. The recommendations of the World Health Organization on compliance with the principles of food safety are considered. It is proven that food safety is a fundamental element of human life. It is concluded that in modern economic conditions, a manufacturer should sell his goods only if the requirements regulated by the legislative and legal acts of Ukraine and comply with and satisfy international standards are met. High-quality food products in sufficient quantities are one of the factors on which the level of social security of the population directly depends. We recommend buying and consuming food products according to the season, buying products from those enterprises that inspire trust and confirm the quality of their manufactured products with appropriate certificates or acts. We recommend constantly adhering to the five principles of food safety of the World Health Organization. In further research, it is necessary to analyze the modern warning system that ensures the quality and safety of food products – a system based on the principles of HACCP.
